THERAPY FOR

Teens

HEY! The teenager reading this…

Yes you! The person whose parent believes they may need to go to therapy.

Part of you knows you need it but really doesn’t want to sit down to tell another adult what is really going on. You are afraid I may not understand, that I may judge you or that you will be sitting in a office bored talking about hard things.

Most people are scared of going to therapy because it is meeting a stranger and discussing things you may have never said before. But here you will find that I am not a stuffy sterotypical therapist and my office is a relaxing place to unwind. This is place of non-judgment but understanding, guidance and at time fun. At my office you can feel free to kick off your shoes, have snacks, color or draw if you wish and most of all feel safe and heard.

If you are dealing with …

  • Feeling overwhelmed or stressed
  • Anxiety or depression
  • Past trauma
  • Bullying
  • Anger and impulsive behaviors
  • Academic and sport performances
  • Addiction issues
  • Body image and disordered eating
  • Peer and romantic relationship issues
  • Self-harm
  • Gender identify issues

I can help you navigate to gain resolutions to the problems that you face.

Parents of Teens and Young Adults

I know its hard to see your child struggling. The once confident and fun loving person is now sullen, withdrawn, and angry.

Today’s teens face more pressure than previous generations.

Majority of teens struggle with rising anxiety, depression, and low self-esteem.

Pressure to do well in school, heighten emotional changes, struggle with friendships and relationships, and body image issues are some of the many challenges they face.

And unlike previous generations, the constant bombardment of social media platforms dictates their mood, how they see themselves and understand the world around them.

You try to reach them, but instead, you are faced with the biggest challenge, a teen that has withdrawn into themselves.

You are worried everyday and unsure what to do.

Hope is here.

With over 20 years of working with adolescent and young adults, I know how to reach them. I work with them on finding their path and their place in the world while providing understanding and education to you.

You are not alone in this and neither is your teen.

I know you think therapy is sitting with a boring person talking about really hard things. But sometimes it’s just about coming in and dropping some tea and figuring out why this world can be just so basic sometimes. No rizz needed. So if you are feeling salty or a bit too extra, we can suss out what is going and get you feeling better about this so-called-life.

Testimonals

“My little girl was total stranger to me.”

She would slink through the door, sullen and withdrawn.  When I tried to talk to her, she would lash out, and we argue constantly.

She hated me, our family, her school, and but worse of all herself.

I don’t know how to reach her, and I’m not sure where to turn.

Since finding Nicole my daughter is happy. Though she is still contining to do the hard work of loving herself as she grows she is a daughter I recognize.  She is now a thriving college student with friends and a bright future.

“I was scared of my son”

When my son was a kid he used to love sports and had great friends. We go to high school and everything changed. He suddenly,  quit the sports teams he loved and is hanging out with people I don’t know. The once decent student was failing classes. He refused to listen to any family. Getting drunk and high was more important. What we didn’t know was that this was not behavioral issues but he was struggling internally with self-esteem, depression and anxiety. Therapy gave my son the space to discover that he can get to a non-destrustive place. Teens will still be teens but we have learned to communciate with each other so I am not longer scared of him or his life outcome.

“I hated myself”

I couldn’t stop cutting and doing stupid things that go me in trouble. I didn’t want to go to school because I no longer had friends. The friends I thought I had had left me. I was lost, sad and hated myself.  Everything made me angry. I know I needed therapy because I didn’t want to die doing what I was doing. I wanted friends and I want to just like myself. I am glad I went ot see Nikki. She has taught me how to work through my issues and how to develop new and healthy friendships. I have stopped being impulisve, stopped cutting and stopped scaring my both my parents and myself. I look forward to going to therapy because I know this is a place I can get the help I need.
