Frequently Asked Questions

Where is your office located?

Elevated Wellness Psychotherapy and Consultation is located at the following address:

501 Bay Avenue, Bayside Commons, Suite 107
Somers Point, NJ 08244

I’m also available to work with you virtually anywhere in New Jersey.

What are your office hours?
I’m available Monday through Friday. I keep flexible hours to meet your needs!
How long is a typical session?

Ninety minutes are available but typically last 60 minutes.

Couples sessions may require more time. I keep 90-minute sessions available for couples.

How do I get started?
Call or email me for your free consultation or to set up your first appointment.
What is a free initial phone consultation?
It’s a call to see if I can meet your therapeutic needs. I’ll get to know you and see what you want from therapy to make sure I’m the right person for you!
What is the hourly fee?

Individuals: $225 for your evaluation and $185 per 60-minute session

Couples: $250 for your evaluation and $225.00 per 60-minute session

Psychedelic-assisted therapy and EMDR sessions vary.

How do I pay?
I accept credit/debit cards, cash, check, or Venmo.
Do you accept insurance?
I only accept Aetna in-network. If you have out-of-network (OON) benefits, you will be given a “Superbill” to submit for reimbursement of services. I can help you determine if you have OON benefits.
How do I make an appointment?
Call or email anytime to make an appointment.
Are there other things I should know about your office?
There are always snacks or candy available. You’re welcome to bring anything you like to feel comfortable.
What is your cancellation policy?
I ask that cancellations be made 24 hours in advance to avoid being charged for the session.
With whom do you work?
I work with adolescents (12+), adults (18+), women, men, couples, LGBTQIA community members, or anyone I can help through therapy.
What can I expect in the first session?

Expect an easy conversation. It’s a get-to-know-you session where we build rapport and establish what you want to work on.

I’ll ask you questions, but only answer what you feel like answering.

What is therapy like with you?
It’s like sitting down with a good friend to share whatever is going on with your life without judgment or stress. Expect to laugh, eat some candy, and gain insight without feeling like you’re “in therapy.”
How long will I be in therapy?
You’re welcome as long or as often as you feel necessary. This is your journey. Some stay for years; others come for months. It all depends on you.
Does anyone cry in front of you?
Yes, and I have good tissues and chocolate to get through it.
Do I have to tell you everything?
Nope. Divulge whatever you’re comfortable with me knowing. We go as far as you want to.
Who benefits from therapy?
Everyone and anyone can benefit. That’s the beauty of therapy: It can be customized to reach little children or support older adults.
What therapeutic approaches do you use?

I use Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Internal Family Systems (IFS), Narrative Therapy, Positive Psychology, and Trauma-Informed approaches.

We’ll tailor your experience and use whatever makes sense, depending on your needs.

What is EMDR?
Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) is a method where you move your eyes a specific way while you process traumatic memories. EMDR’s goal is to help you heal from trauma or other distressing life experiences.
What is psychedelic-assisted therapy?
Due to the complexity of psychedelic-assisted treatment, I can explain it during your free consultation.
Do you offer virtual or phone sessions?
Yes, I offer individual or couples therapy virtually or over the phone (only ages 18+).
Is your furniture comfortable?
Very! You can come in, kick off your shoes, and lie down on the couch – or sit on the chair or floor. Do whatever makes you feel comfortable!
Can I bring my dog?
ABSOLUTELY!
Can I bring breakfast, lunch, or dinner to session?
You sure can. I promise I won’t steal it from you.
Am I allowed to ask personal questions?
Yes, ask away!
Can I bring a friend to a session?
Yes… as long as you are comfortable with them and feel they’ll keep what’s said in session confidential.
Can we go for a walk instead of sitting in the office?
Yep! If it’s nice out, I’m always ready to do therapy on the go. There are plenty of nice places to walk by the bay.
